Since graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Mr. Lane has concentrated his practice in complex commercial litigation. After beginning his career at Dechert LLP, he went on to spend over seven years at the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton LLP before joining KCR. At both Dechert and Pepper, Mr. Lane represented clients in a wide variety of complex civil cases in federal and state courts throughout the country, including mass torts, consumer fraud actions, antitrust and insurance litigation. Mr. Lane has also defended clients in connection with criminal and civil investigations, and related litigation, brought by the United States DOJ and state attorneys general alleging fraud and unfair trade practices.  At KCR, Mr. Lane maintains a varied commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation practice.

Representative Cases

  • Defended major pharmaceutical company against, and achieved favorable resolution of, claims of Medicaid fraud and consumer protection violations brought by attorneys general of eight states with potential fines in the billions of dollars

  • Special litigation counsel to bankruptcy trustee for estate of failed electrical contractor roll-up seeking to recover damages for fraudulent transfers and others claims on behalf of estate and its creditors

  • Defended major pharmaceutical company against thousands of personal injury actions in federal multidistrict litigation and state courts throughout the country alleging that a diabetes medication caused heart problems

  • Representing investor defrauded out of over $10 million by a failed bank against claims by the FDIC for recovery of $3 million loan made by that bank to the investor

  • Representing a baby products manufacturer in a federal court class action claiming antitrust violations associated with its sale of products to a baby products retailer

  • Representing Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee in an adversary proceeding seeking to avoid millions of dollars in transfers made to mortgage lenders by the debtor, who was running a mortgage-related Ponzi scheme
